Funding watch - UK applications due for European Refugee Fund

Projects working with young asylum seekers are being invited to apply for a slice of 1.5m in funding.

Applications are now been invited for schemes under three priority areas of the European Refugee Fund. These include reception measures for asylum seekers, including those supporting children, and the integration of refugees.

Cash will also be channeled to projects around the granting and withdrawing of asylum status.

Grants of up to 125,000 are available but must be match-funded from non-European sources.

The Home Office, which manages the UK allocation of 5.5m, said it intends to fund 10 to 15 programmes in 2005 and encourages applications from smaller organisations working with larger bodies.

The deadline for applications is 9 September. For more details, email sue.taylor@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk or go to www.ind.homeoffice.gov.uk
