Funding Watch: Innovation Fund

1 min read

What is it? A Department for Children, Schools and Families fund for voluntary sector young carers projects. The Innovation Fund is co-ordinated by the National Young Carers Coalition and managed by The Princess Royal Trust for Carers.

How much is on offer? £1m, shared among 18 projects with each receiving approximately £45,000. The deadline is 29 January and grants will be awarded by March.

What will it fund? The fund aims to help young carers' projects adapt the support they offer to focus on lifting young carers out of inappropriate caring roles and provide sustainable solutions to their difficulties. It is looking for projects that take into account not only the child, but also the needs of the cared-for person and the whole family. Projects should provide models of good practice for projects across the country to build upon.
