The Abbotsbury Playground Group received the grant from the Big Lottery Community Spaces Fund, after identifying that the nearest free play area was eight miles away.
Game Group UK has established a £5,000 charitable fund and is offering grants to charities and community groups in Basingstoke that improve young people's employment prospects and community involvement. Twenty grants of £250 are available for projects that benefit young people up to the age of 20. www.hantscf.org.uk
Grants of up to £10,000 are available to community and voluntary groups in Northumberland that help disadvantaged young people overcome transitional obstacles to adulthood.
