Open your youth centre for the matches. It might require a bit of negotiation but adults will be packing the pubs to enjoy the tournament, so why not give young people the same opportunity? Steve Waterhouse, project manager of Liverpool's Interchill scheme, says: "It's the classic 'dual agenda' of youth work - young people want to watch the match with their mates and have a laugh. Youth workers want to use it to increase young people's awareness of curriculum issues."
Interchill is running a sweepstake, but before the young people enter they must complete a profile of their country. This means research: how big the country is, music, food, average wage, faith, cultural questions and so on. When their country plays its first game, young people will introduce their country to the crowd before kickoff.
