The club has transformed one of its kitchens into a Children's Community Food Academy to offer local pupils cookery lessons and healthy eating advice.
As part of the refurbishment, the kitchen has been fitted with adjustable work surfaces and cookers so children can use them easily. The club's own team of chefs will be involved in the sessions and it is hoped the venue will help hammer home the importance of healthy eating.
Also involved in the initiative are the football club's radio station, the regeneration body Aston Pride and the Academy of Culinary Arts.
The first session took place this week with year 5 students from Yew Tree School.
