The strategy will not launch until September 2008, but if it is successful should lead to an ongoing programme of work. It will be divided into eight regional strands, with one focusing on work with black and minority ethnic young people.
Mike Seaton, national youth secretary for the Methodist Association of Youth Clubs, said: "For the duration of the pilot one region will be working with the Association of Black Methodist Youth. We hope they will become integrated."
