It is expanding its Re:Act programme in response to Hope 2008, an initiative to make 2008 a year of mission for churches in the UK.
Urban Saints, which was formerly known as Crusaders, runs Re:Act once a year with a team of 40 young people aged 14 and above. After a three-day residential training session, the group goes on the road to meet local people in towns and carry out mission work. The new programme will set up 50 teams of 40 young people.
The young people, who will travel to each town in lorries with a team of young adults, will help local churches reach out to their communities through a roadshow, culminating in a series of family fun days.
