Extremism: Blears to hold talks with Muslim heads

Youth engagement is one of seven "areas for debate" outlined by the Home Office. Home Secretary Charles Clarke will host a final meeting on 20 September to discuss the proposals.

The Home Office and the Foreign and Commonwealth Office produced a draft paper in April last year, highlighting a need for community-based intervention to prevent the radicalisation of young people. It was leaked to The Sunday Times last month.

The Home Office said the themes in the report will be tackled by community-led groups. She declined to comment on why it had not been published.

Chris Whiley, head of Bradford Youth Service, said the report would not have changed how the service works with young people.
