Community cohesion minister Phil Woolas visited Bolton last week ahead of the launch of the Department of Communities and Local Government's Commission on Integration and Cohesion.

The launch comes hot on the heels of raids on homes in Waltham Forest in London and High Wycombe in Buckinghamshire. The police were hunting for suspects, many of whom were under 25, who had allegedly planned to blow up transatlantic airliners.

Faqib Deshmukh is senior youth worker at Buckinghamshire Youth Service, and runs a young leaders' group at the Green Street Youth and Community Centre in High Wycombe, attended mainly by Pakistani boys aged 16 to 18.
