The in-depth analysis of how 12 local authorities are coping with changeis the third in a series of publications by the agency, designed to helpprofessionals deliver improved outcomes for children and families.
"We have tried to describe and analyse what we're calling local journeys- the process of converting the Children Act 2004 into 150 local changeprogrammes," said Paul Roberts, director of strategy at IDeA. "We hopeit will support authorities to make their own journeys by enabling themto learn from each other."
The study showed that local authorities are embracing the change agendawith "vigour and commitment," said Roberts.
"Everyone realises that these changes must be judged by improvedoutcomes for children and young people," he added. "Inevitably thoseoutcomes take time to work through the system."
