The scheme is being run with The British Safety Council, which is funding 100 young people from the city to study towards a Level 1 Certificate in Health and Safety at Work.
A group of young people aged 16 to 18 from the Dogsthorpe and Central areas were the first to take part in the project.
Martin Williams, 18, one of the young people involved, said: "I enjoyed the project. We all worked as a team, so it was good for team-building skills."
