Commentary

The importance of multi-agency working in children’s services makes joint working a key policy area, but the manifestos are short on both rhetoric and detail. The Tories pledge to overhaul how agencies with a stake in safeguarding work together to tackle child sexual exploitation. Labour wants to see more co-location of early help services, linking to its pledge to reinvigorate Sure Start children’s centres, while the Lib Dems advocate bringing services closer together at a local level.
