Holmer Green First School won the award in partnership with Buckinghamshire County Council for their Go for Gold programme. Children who walk to school have a special passport stamped and receive prizes.
Head teacher Sue Huntley said the school introduced the scheme to encourage pupils to become healthier and to cut congestion at the school gate. Since the programme started in 2000, car use has been reduced from 62 per cent to 26 per cent.
