The parents planned to hold a meeting this week to discuss the proposals made in a consultation document reviewing the provision for special educational needs in Worcestershire.
"Inclusion is fine for children who can manage," said Mary Dhonau, mother of a six-year-old with severe autism. "But children like mine, who cannot manage in a mainstream environment, will be short changed." Worcestershire County Council said its proposals were a response to the changing environment of special educational needs and the Government's inclusion policy, which is leading to a fall in pupil numbers at special schools.
