West Dunbartonshire Council said: "The latest figures show a big drop in the number of children being excluded from our schools and mark the third successive fall in the primary sector, reducing by more than 30 per cent on the previous year. The number of days lost to exclusion in the secondary sector has also fallen by five per cent on the previous year. The council is committed to working closely with head teachers to support alternatives to exclusion."
