Education: Key Stage 2 - Huge variation in test results

The number of pupils reaching the nationally expected level in English and maths by the time they leave primary school varies dramatically between councils in England, Government figures have shown.

In Leicester only 70 per cent of pupils attained Level 4 or above at KeyStage 2 in English. In contrast, Richmond topped the tables with 88 percent and 84 per cent of pupils gaining Level 4 in English and mathsrespectively.
