The first thing I would review if I were in charge of education is how people are motivated.

Through every aspect of our lives we suffer from negativity and as young people we easily become part of the self-fulfilling prophecy we call society. Having now attended both state and private education, I have seen what a difference wanting to learn can make in a study environment. We need to find a way to extend this ethos to all.

Empowering young people to have a real say in the decisions made about their education would be hugely positive. I would like the next generation to be involved in shaping their own future, which would also provide educators with a unique insight into the issues that are important to the young people in their care.
