Editorial: Green paper must look at other initiatives

Given that the paper was only announced in July, writing the document within this timetable is a brutal challenge. It has been divided into three strands. The first is places to go and things to do, including sport, volunteering and residential activities. Then comes targeted support for young people such as those who are involved with drugs or crime, or not in education, employment or training. Third is careers, information and advice.

Each strand has an associated working group comprising officials from various government departments and stakeholders from across the youth sector that will help shape the final version of document.
