The campaign, which covers all drug users, is also designed to alter negative public perceptions about treatment and treatment centres for drug addiction.
An accompanying report, Treatment Works: Fact or Fiction, has been published by the campaign's co-ordinating charity, the European Association for the Treatment of Addiction. Other organisations involved are Addaction, Compass, Cranstoun Drug Services, Phoenix House, Turning Point and RAPt.
Leaflets will be distributed in places such as GP's surgeries, while postcards will be distributed through cinemas and cafes.
Ian Robinson, chief executive of the association, said: "We are trying to get young people to access services before it affects their health or they get into crime."
