Last week Prime Minister Gordon Brown told the House of Commons that the Home Office would consult on whether to raise cannabis from a class C to a class B drug.
DrugScope chief executive Martin Barnes said: There is no evidence that class C classification is an incentive for young people to use cannabis or that reclassifying it as class B will deter them from trying it.
