The Government's current 10-year drug strategy comes to an end in March 2008. This consultation is designed to gather the views of the public, stakeholders, former and current drug users on ways to deal with the use of illegal drugs.
PLANS INCLUDE:
The debate over the classification of cannabis has resurfaced - the Advisory Council on the Misuse of Drugs has once again been asked to consider whether the drug should be class B rather than class C. There are also proposals on improving drug education for young people and providing support to young people and families dealing with drug addiction.
