Detached youth work: Federation moves to Leicester office

Pete Harris, chair of the federation, said: "The main thing this will provide is stability. We were told we couldn't stay at our London offices and so, ironically as we are detached youth workers, we were put out on the streets. At the same time our full-time employee left, so we didn't have admin support."

The federation will remain independent of The NYA. Harris said: "We are still a grass-roots organisation with executives who are practitioners."
