Funding for Derbyshire groups to support and create youth activities in the area

What is it? The Youth Action Grant scheme has been set up by Derbyshire County Council to enable local groups to support and create youth activities in the county. Grants are decided by a panel, which prioritises applications that will have the biggest impact and contribute the most to wellbeing.

How much is on offer?
The fund totals £250,000, with grants of up to £1,000 available to projects for young people aged 13 to 19, and those aged up to 24 years old if disabled.

What will it fund? The fund is available to groups including charities, voluntary organisations, community interest companies, social enterprises, community groups and parish councils. It has been set up on the basis that local groups will know best what their area needs, and ideas include sports groups, media workshops and extending the provision of existing activities. The scheme cannot fund a project where statutory funding has been withdrawn or where services should be provided by statutory agencies, and cannot provide funding for buying land or buildings, or for the promotion of religious or political beliefs.

When is the deadline?
Applications must be submitted by the last working day of the month.
