DCSF calls for data on positive events

Youth Work
The Department for Children, Schools and Families (DCSF) has told all local authorities in England to improve the way they promote and collect data on positive activities.

Research conducted by the department has raised concerns about the levels of youth activities taking place at key times, such as on Friday and Saturday nights, and about the efforts councils are making to publicise events to young people.

The department has written to all local authorities to request them to provide additional information on the pattern of youth activities provided over the week and a breakdown by activity and provider type.
