Police involved with at least 200 cases of children becoming victim of revenge porn; former Top Gear presenter Jeremy Clarkson lashes out at the parents of transgender children; and researchers warn of dangers of playground paint, all in the news today.

At least 200 children have been the victims of revenge porn in the past nine months, according to a Freedom of Information request. The Telegraph reports that the police work on nearly five cases a week involving explicit images of children that have been shared online without their consent.


Former BBC Top Gear presenter Jeremy Clarkson has lashed out at the transgender community and the parents of transgender children. Pink News reports that Clarkson has accused parents of transgender children of “indulging their whims”. ?


Paint in children's playgrounds contains dangerous levels of lead, according to research from Plymouth University. The Telegraph reports that playgrounds contain up to 60 times the recommended levels of lead, based on findings from 50 playgrounds in the south of England.


Private security firm G4S has been paid to look after empty beds at a secure training centre where accusations of abuse by staff against young people held there have been made. The Guardian reports that just 47 children are now held at Medway STC in Kent, but G4S still charges for full capacity of 76.


Cumbria's director of children's services should resign in light of a report on how social workers responded to the suspicious death of 13-month-old Poppi Worthington, according to the council's opposition leader. The Cumberland News and Star reports that Anne Burns handed in her resignation last year, but the council leader refused to accept it.
