Schools will receive support from Barnardo's to help children who are victims of homophobic buying. The charity has produced a toolkit for schools to address homophobic bullying, and will send representatives into schools to talk about issues including faith and sexuality.
Around 1,500 people have signed petitions calling for Cheshire East Council to keep four children’s centres open. The Stoke Sentinel reports the council is set to “de-designate” four centres in order to save £500,000.
Fast food chain KFC has banned children from eating in one of its restaurants unless they are accompanied by an adult. The Sun reports that the move came after a series of "scuffles" between teenagers left employees fearing for their safety at a branch in Stoke-on-Trent.
Three-fifths of apprentices do not know where to turn to for advice before embarking on an apprenticeship career path, research has found. The study by government-funded training and apprenticeships provider Positive Outcomes questioned 277 apprentices aged between 16 and 24.
A former youth worker who sexually exploited teenage girls online has been jailed for more than four years. Gazette Live reports that Teesside Crown Court was told that 36-year-old Christopher Wise trawled the internet for young girls and targeted three schoolgirls via social media.
