The young people were due to be among around 200 young people from different countries, including Denmark, Norway, and Sweden, taking part in the programme from 6 to 21 December. Each young person needed to raise £1,200 to cover costs.
The young people held a family fun day at the Buttershaw Youth Centre in late November to raise money for the trip.
Speaking before the group set off, youth worker Emma Carnall said: "It will be extremely hard work for them but that's what they're there for."
