Having recently developed 17 centres in two years as part of phase two of its children's centre development, Croydon is now preparing to increase the number to 26 during phase three. The council is recruiting five early years advisers, one for each of its local authority delivery partnerships, to co-ordinate services.
Julie Briant, head of service for partnerships at Croydon Council, said the advisers would help bring about more co-ordination: "They will work alongside children's centre staff to deliver integrated services."
