The Relate Institute will be based at Doncaster College. It will open inSeptember and there are already more than 350 students lined up. Theinstitute will offer new high-level qualifications in couple and familycounselling as well as providing training and development to others whowork with children and families in the private, voluntary and publicsectors.
"With larger facilities and more staff, we'll be able to offer bespoketraining to a wide variety of people," said Jenny North, Relate's headof public policy.
She said counselling skills could be invaluable to people like teachers,childcarers and social workers. It could help them identify problems andtalk about them with parents.
