The Children and Youth Board, which comprises eight- to 18-year-olds, will examine new policy areas as part of the Department for Education and Skills' work to consult young people.
NCB has run the board since an initial pilot two years ago by youth news agency Children's Express, which has since been renamed Headliners.
Lucy Read, development officer at NCB, said: "The board has been successful and last year it looked at a range of policies including Youth Matters, bullying, the Common Assessment Framework, antisocial behaviour and the Respect Action Plan." Read hopes to have the board fully up and running by May.
