Consultation on a National Framework for Assessing Children and Young People's Continuing Care.

Health
The Department of Health is seeking views on a proposed national framework for the assessment of continuing care for children and young people under the age of 18 with long-term health needs.

The framework will provide primary care trusts (PCTs) with a consistent and transparent approach to the assessment of children and young people's healthcare needs.

The PCTs will work with local authorities to meet these needs. Currently, the decision on whether a young person is eligible for a continuing care package is based on local procedures and can vary depending on the area. The government is therefore proposing a single national process.

Closing date: 31 December.
