The consultation document sets out a proposal to pilot four newapproaches: changes to assessment, such as more frequent and shortertests; individual tuition for pupils who are not making enough progressin English and maths; school targets, including a measure of how pupilsare progressing; and a premium for schools who have achieved success inreaching targets.
The DfES will publish its response to the consultation by the end ofApril.
