Consultation of the week: Families Matter - Supporting families inNorthern Ireland

Northern Ireland's Department of Health, Social Services and Public Safety is seeking views on a strategy to boost support for parents. Its main focus is on intervention services.

The strategy has five priority themes: parental support; access toinformation; needs assessment; information sharing; and multi-agencyworking. Measures outlined include strengthening the role of healthvisitors and establishing nine new Sure Start projects and six newchildren's centres by April 2008.
