Connexions: Most teens contact service for careers

An annual survey of the ser-vice found that 86 per cent of young people ask for advice on jobs and careers, while only 13 per cent ask for advice on drugs and alcohol. Both figures are unchanged from 2003.

BMRB Research carried out the survey, which interviewed more than 18,000 teenagers in the 15 phase-one Connexions partnerships formed in 2001.

A spokesman for the National Association of Connexions Par-tnerships said: "That has been the pattern throughout." www.dfes.gov.uk.
