Connexions: Birmingham helps with careers pilot

Five careers guidance centres, including Birmingham's Connexions service, are testing the NVQ Level 4 in Careers Education and Guidance. The NVQ is developed for teachers working as careers co-ordinators. The pilot will run from September to March and a progress review will be carried out in November.

Pat Rodwell, staff training and development manager at Birmingham and Solihull Connexions, said: "Schools must deliver good careers guidance and our advisers working in schools will contribute to their work."
