Samantha Hague, Sarah Henshall and Tristan Hale are on the shortlist for the awards, to be announced today, 11 June.
Three categories - community, environment and sports achiever - each have four young people, aged 16 to 22, shortlisted. Winners get 2,500 for personal and project development, 250 in leisure vouchers and 12 months of follow-up support.
Leisure company Whitbread Group sponsors the awards, which grew out of the Whitbread Volunteer Action awards.
