The local authority commissioned independent research by the CharitiesEvaluation Service after implementing the framework in 2004.
The research has now been completed and has identified four keychallenges for local co-ordination: ensuring consistent participationacross all agencies; monitoring information sharing; setting up casetracking; and establishing "document control".
It also flags up the need for more guidance on the role of leadprofessionals and highlights the importance of having the resourceswithin the local authority and partner agencies, including those in thevoluntary sector.
Bintu Tijani, head of Peterborough's common assessment framework team'said the research also raised issues around workforce development. "Itunderlined for us the importance of tailoring training," she said.
