Although the updated guidance remains broadly the same, the updated versions include new guidance from the Information Commissioner's Office on storing CAF forms. This clarifies how to meet the requirements around confidentiality and data protection.
Deirdre Quill, director of workforce reform at CWDC, said: "The CAF and lead professionals are valuable tools to help keep children and young people safe. They help practitioners to identify children and young people's needs early, and to work together to put preventative services in place. This can help children, young people and families get back on track and avoid a problem turning into a crisis."
The guidance is available on the Department for Children, Schools and Families website.
