Communities and Local Government last week announced a 650,000 fund to help groups develop community leadership schemes. It will also fund local projects to help young Muslims gain opportunities to get involved in civic life.
Shaista Rahman, former group leader for the Young Muslim Sisters, a branch of Young Muslim Organisation UK, said: "Young Muslim women face stereotypes in the workplace and in education and there needs to be a breakdown in barriers."
