Children and Young People's Services Awards 2006: Awards For Excellence and Achievement

5 mins read
Young People Now and our sister title Children Now have teamed up to launch the first national awards dedicated to recognising the achievement of professionals across youth and children's services.

All over the country, innovative work is under way that exemplifies the principles enshrined in Youth Matters, Every Child Matters and the Children Act 2004, and is aimed at improving the lives of young people across the five outcomes of being healthy, staying safe, making a positive contribution, enjoying and achieving and economic wellbeing.

This work is taking place at every level. Some of it is project-based and with a preventive focus; some of it involves change throughout organisations to make them more youth-focused; and some of it involves the demanding task of creating services.

Yet much of this work is unsung, performed by dedicated professionals, managers and volunteers because they want to make a difference to the lives of young people. The Children and Young People's Services Awards will recognise and celebrate the best in the UK.
