Speaking prior to the association's conference yesterday (19 October), Rosemary Murphy said it was vital that policy-makers looked at ways to boost the sector, including developing training aimed at harnessing the skills of older men and women.
"It's about making the right kind of funding," she said. "We need to look at how we can attract mature people into the sector and train them properly."
