Hexham Children's Centre's child health clinic will also offer a range of NHS services, including check-ups and diagnosis. The health visitor team running the clinic is being supplied by Northumberland Care Trust.
Health visitor Ann Potter said the clinic would give parents more choice and compliment services at the trust's primary care centre, which brings together district nurse and GP services into a single location.
The children's centre, which opened in July, has also started offering basic cookery classes to parents, which are funded by the Women's Institute and the Food Standards Agency.
