The chair in palliative care for children and young people will be a high-profile specialist with knowledge of both the academic and medical aspects of the field.
He or she will lead research, create better education and training opportunities for professionals, raise the profile of children's palliative care and work with international agencies to develop a stronger global voice for severely ill children, young people and their families.
The post is the result of collaboration between the True Colours Trust - a Sainsbury Family Charitable Trust - the Association for Children's Palliative Care and Children's Hospices UK. The post will be funded for at least three years.
