Charities handed share of 11m pot

Youth Work
A further 25 third sector organisations are to receive money from the government's Youth Sector Development Fund.

A total of £11m has been awarded in the third round of funding to help deliver positive activities to more than 20,000 young people in England over the next two years.

The latest round of funding focused on smaller organisations with a turnover of less than £1m. Berkshire Association of Clubs for Young People and Leicester-based Soft Touch Arts were among the beneficiaries.

More than 120 of the sessions delivered by the winning organisations will be on Friday and Saturday nights.

Dawn Primarolo, children's minister, said the funding would help grassroots-level projects that work with the most disadvantaged young people.
