I started singing and playing instruments four years ago. I grew up listening to Motown, classical and reggae, but developed a love for jazz.

Through Waltham Forest music services, I auditioned for the choir, not realising I had been chosen to sing a solo part in the finale until after the first choir practice. I went home on cloud nine wondering if they had me mixed up with someone else. This was a dream, a 14-year-old musician unable to afford private music lessons singing a solo at the Gateway to Music event at The Sadler's Wells theatre. The event was sponsored by the Jack Petchey Foundation, which celebrated 10 years of supporting thousands of young people in and around London.

Having 300 young musicians on stage with me was without doubt exhilarating. I felt like I was flying and they were my wings. My ambition needs hard work, plenty of practice and a determination to succeed, I will make it as a performer/writer/musician.
