- What is it?
Busy Bees is one of the UK's largest chains of commercial nurseries. Originally set up in Lichfield in 1983, it now has 130 nurseries. It was acquired by New Zealand company ABC in December 2006 and has since taken over two other chains, Leapfrog Day Nurseries and TLC. Four of the six founders are still involved with Busy Bees, which celebrated its 25th anniversary last year.
- Where is it based?
It has nurseries across the UK. These include managed nurseries for organisations, such as Birmingham's Queen Elizabeth hospital. Its head office is in Staffordshire.
- What roles are available?
The company offers established career progression. Staff can join as unqualified assistants and work their way up. At least one current manager has taken this route.
