The council has received £975,000 to help create a further 150 jobs for unemployed 18- to 24-year-olds to train in the cultural, creative and digital media field.
These new jobs bring the total created under the Future Jobs Fund to 700 alongside the target of 500 apprenticeships created city-wide by 2012.
The jobs will be open to 18- to 24-year-olds who have been claiming Jobseeker's Allowance for between six and 12 months.
Councillor Ted Kemble, Brighton & Hove's cabinet member for enterprise and employment, said: "The creative and digital media field is often highlighted as a growth area in Brighton and Hove, so it makes sense that our young people train and work in it."
