Birthday Honours: Aynsley-Green to receive knighthood

England's children's commissioner Al Aynsley-Green has received a knighthood in the Queen's Birthday Honours for his work with children and young people.

Other well-known figures in the children's sector to receive honoursinclude Francine Bates, chief executive of Contact a Family, and BarbaraHearn, NCB's deputy chief executive and director of policy and research,who received the Order of the British Empire (OBE). Dr Bob Jezzard,professional adviser on child and adolescent mental health for theDepartment of Health, also received an OBE.

Figures to receive the Commander of the British Empire (CBE) include LizRailton, honorary secretary of the Association of Directors of SocialServices, Lynda Wilson, director of Barnardo's Northern Ireland, andEsther Rantzen, president of ChildLine.
