Best thing I ever did: Laura Stenhouse, 23, Ashington

1 min read

It's rewarding to see little changes in someone when you are working towards helping them get back into the community.

Winning Volunteer of the Year Award from CSV was a real confidence boost - I didn't realise the impact I could have. I seemed to adapt to my role naturally, despite being nervous at first.

It feels great to see the girl I first worked with is now going to college and a volunteer herself. I want to continue developing my mentoring skills and working on getting people back into society, perhaps as a probation officer.
