I love volunteering in the tuck shop at college. But when some of the students in wheelchairs asked if they could help out I had to let them down because there wasn't access for them.
So I came up with the idea of getting an adjustable table for wheelchair users. I'm partially sighted and used to be in a wheelchair so I know how it feels when you can't do what everyone else can. But I never let it bother me.
Winning the Personal Achievement Award in the Millennium Volunteer of the Year Awards was a shock. It made me realise I have made a difference.
I've joined the equality and diversity committee at college because I want to continue to create equal opportunities.
